Arctic Cat EXT 580 HELP!!

Hey guys and gals I just got a 1996 Arctic Cat EXT 583 powder special and someone told me that its a grenader and I dont wanna be in some trail and it goes boom so please let me know ASAP or send me a E-MAIL

The 580 engine has a history of breaking piston skirts unless properly warmed up every time.

Depending on the miles it has, I would consider freshening the top end with new pistons and rings for peace of mind.

And most of the new pistons have a coated piston skirts! Best to do it before 3500mi and it does grenade!

Do the 580 efi have the same problem. I only have 1000 miles on the motor!

Hey has anyone had a engine code on580ext, 2 long flashes 2 short.. Sled fires and that's about it. Compression is 120psi,, fuel psi is 35
Any help would be appreciated

1 long & 1 short = Open or short in Throttle Position Sensor
1 long & 3 short = Open or short in intake Air Temp Sensor
1 long & 4 short = Open or short in Engine Coolant Temp Sensor
2 long & 1 short = Faulty #1 mag injector control circuit in ECU or open or short in circuit to the #1 injector
2 long & 2 short = Faulty #2 pto injector control circuit in ECU or open or short in circuit to the #2 injector
4 long & 1 short = open or short in the injector timing sensor
4 long & 2 short = open or short in the ignition timing sensor

1997-On Models
1 flash = Open or shortin Throttle Position Sensor
2 flash = Open or short in Engine Coolant Temp Sensor
3 flash = Open or short in Intake Air Temp Sensor
4 flash = Open or short in the barometric Pressure Sensor
5 flash = Faulty Fuel Injectors
