What Cat to buy??
I would be very greatful to hear from some of you Artic Cat riders out there. I'm looking to change things up (used to drive the old Indy's of the past) and am looking at maybe going for a Cat this time around. I don't have tons of $$ But am looking at anything from 99 -06 What is the best overall sled A/C made during those yrs??? Good ride and good motor!!!!!! Any and all opinions and tips would be greatly appreciated... Thanks

Well oh ok I guess I could give you my opinion!LOL! Lets see where to start?
Stepping back from your age group alittle and well worth the mention, is the 97 ZR580efi, best sled for the buck! The 99 ZR600efi was the sled of the year! But when you get to the 02 ZR800and 03 900 efi things REALY pick up! (probably the best sit down sled made!) If you are a stand up guy there is the 03 F7! And on the otherside and again well worth the mention is the 10 XF 800r! Now I only have one word for trail cruisers though, PANTARA!

ZR's are a good bet for good performance and reliability, 01 or newer gets you the power valve motors, which are a definite improvement, but my 98 ZR600 is still a great sled, just a little pipier, so don't count the older ones out. You have to be careful with the older F series. They're great sleds, light and fast, but they had issues with tunnel cracks. There was a recall done and reinforcement plates were riveted in, so you want to make sure it was done before purchasing one. ZL's are also a good sled. Basically a ZR with a wider ski stance and a little softer suspension.

Yeah but it's been over 11 years! And $20k is about right!
But think of it this way, snowmobiling is my only vise! 1 pack of smokes a day is now $2500 a year! And the little ZR is just one of 9 Cats and 7 Yamis I try to keep running!
