ID my cat

I just picked up 1995 zr 580. As im looking at it i notice it dosent have fox shock on it and it also running a hanger system instead of a motor plate. I have had other ZR 580's before they all had fox shocks and a motor plate. Now my ZR 700 are the only ones ive seen in this chassis type to run a hanger system before. Im just looking for more info on this style of ZR or if its maybe some well put together project someone had there hands on

The Best ZR580 is the 97 ZR 580 EFI! I think they droped the plate in like 94! The hanger type lowers the center of gravity!

Oh and again I have a Beer that says my ZR is Faster than Yours!

So what about the shocks maybe the owner changed them am i right about the fox shocks only on ZR's maybe the shocks are changed. I was told that only big bore sleds ran the hanger system until 98 with the newer ZR chassis came out. Then every motor ran the system. There are also other differences ive notice but dont want to look crazy. If some could post pics of there 95 zr that would help. And i got a case of pabst that says my 95 ZR 700 will take you ZR

In 95 the 580was a big bore! And it's big brother the 700 was the biggist twin made!

You can keep your PBR and I'd even run you with my Little ZR!

And, my 93 Wildcat has the hanger system instead of a motor plate too.
And it too will be faster than your ZR.

Im not asking what other sled have ran this system before. Im asking if anyone has seen this on a 580 before. Or if it was a limited build or something to that fact. Thank you

This might help, you can look at the different frames and see how the engines were mounted.

If I am correct, the 92 wildcat was the first production sled to use this system of motor mounts.

The two aluminum brackets hanging off the back of the motor are the hangers. There also a third hanger in the front by the recoil housing.

That is the normal motor mount for the 580! And they all would have had that type system form like 94 and up!

Then you should come out to the Mid Wi Ride (provided we get snow this season)! I've had it at either Tomah area or Westfield!

Hmmmm. Its gets busy for me during the winter time. I only take two weekends off during the winter. (Vintage derby & new derby weekend) Otherwise im wrenching away on customers sleds. I typically stay close to home and ride during the week. But if snow permits and i can work it all out maybe ill run down for a day
