650 wildcat troubles

Alright fellas,

Took a trip to St Germain this weekend and has 1.5 good days of riding then the sled woudnt run right. I could ride it for maybe 1 minute, then it acted like someone turned the fuel off. It wolud bog down slowly until it died. If I pumped the throttle it would put along. Right after dying it would restart and run good again. I did this to limp it home, and on the way there the lights burnt out and the tack quit working. The sled idled great all weekend and you could go to about 5000 rpms, but after that the symptoms came back. Any suggestions? I cleaned the carbs, lines, and tank. Checks plugs, and exhaust for obstruction. Track and bearings look great. Everything looks excellent and it starts almost first pull. All help is appreciated.

Sorry for the long post.-Dave

Just a shot in the dark, but just check the wiring going to the hood, if it has chafed thru on a steel part, or burned on the exhaust it might just be grounding out the stator coils. If the tach wires were grounding it might affect spark.

Stator problem....Won't go above 5000RPM, plus no lights. It's under the flywheel.

It will go above 5000. Just runs rough there. I'll check the stator.-Dave
