Lightbulb Choped Tunnel 2000 or Older ZR Cahsis

I am looking for some ideas on how to go about tapering my tunnel on a 1999 Powder Special. I am trying to find out if I should start at the front of the foot wells or just behind the rear skid bolts.

I am hoping to reduce drag, improve snow through put and eliminate dead weight from ice buildup in the top of the tunnel near the rear cooler.

Has anyone on here done this before and do you have any suggestions.

Please Help.
