I'm certain that the EFI stators are different than the carb stators but you may be able to switch over the one from the blown 600 motor. There may be other compatibility issues and I'm sure the experts will help out. BTW how badly "Blown" is the 600?

Might be easier to do the topend on the 600 than to try getting the 500 into the sled and running.
You could always sell the 500 motor to finance the 600 rebuild.
If you go that route just be sure to identify and fix the problem that caused the motor to blow in the first place.
BTW, where are you located?

zr 500 600 motor swap

Hi the guy that had the sled said that throttle swith was bad so the sled had a small back fire,he drove it for a little then he took it to a dealer and that's what the dealer told him, so he put a new switch in and it ran great for a littlewhile. Shortly after as he said blew up so the top end was pulled and that is the state I will get it tonight. I have a 97 z440 that has a small miss in it to maybe the same problem?????? Thanks for the help I live in wales mi

Wiring harness from EFI to carbed engines are totally different, so, no it will not just drop in and go.
Take a look at the 600 engine and see exactly what the damage is and I would go with COOKSTER's recommendation and sell the 500 engine to finance the repair of the 600.

id also would rebuild the 600 motor.
sell all the parts from the 500 and get
some new or used 600 parts.
im sure you can prolly find some
in the for sale area.

Some of the early buildes had piston problems as well as cyl skirts too! You would be MUCH happier to do the big bore set up then go down in size! Having a cyl repaired is only like $175 to repair and pistons are around $50-75.
