torque specs: 1998 zl500

FINALLY SNOW!!! The only bad part is that mine isn't done yet. If anyone could tell me the torque specs on the crank case, base bolts, and head bolts. If anyone could let me know, that would be pretty cool. Thanks... Ride hard, or go home!

10# on the small case bolts, 20# on the larger as well as the head. 40# on the jugs to case! Start in the center and work your way to the out side on the cases! Be sure to put the cases on a piece of glass with 300 grite sand paper!

hey, thanks man! Is that 300 grit for a easy planing device? And is it also true that I can't use a silicone base sealant for the case?

Correct, you need an anaerobic sealer (3Bond) for the case halves.

No silicone! A soft set sealant, I think it's Locktite 318? Looks and smells like Grapes

Thanks soo much guys!! I'm really looking forward to this build. My first cat. I'm just putting new rings in, a quick hone and a full gasket set.
