Yes, it will be on one of the narrow sides, look for a small view port.

Well i tried it, and it only flashed once when i turned it on, and it started on the 4th pull, i am not sure if the stator is bad or if the battery is shot, once u put a good charge in the battery it runs like a champ

If the battery is old (more than 3 years) replace it with the correct one.

1996 zrt 600
Blaine - after watching your videos and reading posts, I'm optomistic I may solve the following problem:
1996 ZRT 600 will not kill (teather, key, or kill switch) when it's sub zero and been run on a long trip. In worst cases it also will not go over 4500 RPM.
Thinking it's electrical and either the TSS or kill switch. Do you agree?
A couple questions after watching your videos:
1) did you run the wire to keep the key switch or just use the stock harness differently?
2) same for the lights and gauges?

Sled won’t shut off condition: I have seen a few things cause this. It is usually a bad ground/broken ground wire. Sometimes it is moisture in the connector. I had to disconnect my TSS/Kill switch the day my kill switch got moisture in it and my sled wouldn’t shut off. You could have a cdi with an internal short. Also, a bad stator can cause a sled to not shut off.

TSS/Kill
Great Video. My 2000 ZR500 when I unplugged the 3 prong it started. I see in your replies that 98 and newer are open ignition so I can leave unplugged. I am going to hook up the 2 wires for the Kill switch though as the kids drive this sled. Great post. Thanks.
