somethings chewing up inside of track

Another rider thats been riding with me at gold creek aked me about an issue he noticed with his sled.He saw that the inside of his track nubs are getting chewed off by something. He's looked at the wheels and parts and can't figure out whats causing it.So i told him i'd put up some pics here and see if i can get some ideas of whats causing this. He has an artic cat mountain king.I don't know what year his sled is. Sorry abou the wrong pic,but the other ones an idea.

Track alignment is usually what will do it, or a bad cog drive wheel. Does it skip when you jump on the throttle?

yes check track alignment, but my gut feel is track tension. Looks like when "dude" stands on the throttle, the track is to loose and the track is ratcheting. Ask if when he gets on it does it feel like its skipping. When I first felt it on my XCR 440 I thought I was digging through the dismal 4 inches of snow with the sweet track on there and catching the 1 3/4" studs on the grass/dirt below. Creating a somewhat rough, jumpy feeling. I was wrong, it got worse until it only took 1/2 throttle to do it. Looked and one of the adjuster nuts had backed off the rear axle, causing it to loosen way up.

If its tight, have him check his jackshaft for wear on the cog drives... or a little troll with an axe chopping the **** out of it everytime he gets upset.
