I am thinking of buying a used 2001 arctic cat zl 550 esr snowmobile. The sled has 2,100 miles on it, fast track long-travel suspension system, sled is in excellent condition. Would appreciate any input anyone might have, good or bad. I currently own a 92 Prowler which is in good condition, but the suspension is not the best. Looking for something with a smoother ride.
I own a 2002 zl 500 and it's a pretty good riding sled, soaks up 95% of the bumps pretty good. I believe the 550 doesn't have as much power as the 500, that's the party piece to my sled is how hard it pulls and how quick it is for a 500. You would definetly be improving on the chassis and ride department going to the 550 though.
hey, I have a 02 zl550 and just love it. the 550 has 80 hp and im sure the 500 has 97. I can get over 100 miles on a tank, and I'v had it up to 85mph on a lake and slowly creaping up in speed. I just put a 1 1/4" lug ripsaw track on it and lost about 10mph. But boy does it pull. My bro has a 04 f6, and my zl has a much better ride on the trails. just my .02 cents
