F6 versus F8?
Quick question...
Is there any reason someone would get a 2007 F6 over a 2007 F8 if they were the same price? I guess what Im trying to figure out is are they built for different uses? If they're both sporty with short tracks, why take a 600cc over an 800cc? Thanks guys

Maybe it depends on the mileage, if the F6 had 1,000 miles and the F8 had 3,600 miles, I would take the F6.

The 800 is heavier, making the 600 much more maneuverable, but if they're the same price the 800 is the way to go.

They're both brand new, 2007 leftovers. The F8 is $6100 and the F6 is $5999, so not the exact same price, but $101 more for the F8 seems worth it to me.
What kinda reliability do these F6/F8s typically have? I know they're 2 strokes, but are they known to last a long time before needing engine work?

Pretty reliable, I'd get the 800.

You know I don't understand it either! They make an F5! F6! F7 and a F8! The F7 has always been the better choice, but then look at all the Big bore kits and hop up kits!
Go Big or Don't Go! And another thing the F5 gets worse milage than the F7!

That's terrible... it's ten times lighter and it gets worse mileage? How is that even possible?

You have to run the engine faster to keep up with the 500 = more gas burned.
For the price difference, go with the 800, it'll get better mileage and more smiles per gallon.

With that close range, definitely take the F8.

What kinda MPG can I expect from an F8? And being a 2 stroke, I'll need to mix gas/oil everytime too right? Or does it have some sort of oil injection system?

No mixing needed. You can expect nearly 14mpg, maybe even better on the newer models.

Oh wow ok 14 MPG is much better than I thought, and no mixing is a huge plus. This F8 is sounding better and better...and for $3000 less than a same-year Apex sounds like a no brainer huh? I read the F8 has 142 HP and the Apex 150 HP so they're almost the same there, but the F8 weighs 503 lbs while the Apex weighs 542 lbs. To be honest Im not seeing any reason why the Apex is a smarter choice than the F8 anymore...?
Roughly what does an entire top end rebuild cost? Because even if it needs one in half the time of the Apex, the $3000 saved STILL makes it worth it Im sure? Thanks again for all the replies guys, the F8 is moving higher on my list everyday.

Just a top end is around $150 for gaskets and rings, about another $100 if you do the pistons too.
The F8 will be much quicker acceleration than the Apex. (both stock)

Go with the Cat!!!
Besides, I'm assuming you live in the USA? Why not pump your money into our economy rather than the Japanese?

I have an 04 F-6. Was wondering how much $ it would be to make it an f-7 or maybe an F-8 kit. What would be more cost effective. I want to spend less than 1,000.

Ford worker, you could sell your sled and buy an F8... it would leave you with more money than converting.

Mileage is great on a F8, but keep in mind you can only use APV oil in it $$$$$
