ECU Trouble

I was pulling the air box off of my 2002 ZR 800 EFI. To do so, I pulled the ECU off as well. The problem is that when I went to pull it off, the small plastic or rubber line on the bottom broke off at the fitting. First off, what is this line and fitting? What are they for? Second, is there some way to repair this without buying a new ECU? The fitting is totaly gone. If I knew what the line was for, I could then figure out as how to proceed. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you in advance.

How long was the tube? I wouldn't worry much about it... How does it run?

The tube is between 18" and 24" long. There is a small clear plastic box on the under side of the ECU that it is formed into. The tube then runs out the back of the air box to the bottom of the belly pan. I really am looking to know what the hose is for. I may not have to worry about the line, but what is it for? I would feel a lot better leaving it alone if I knew what it is for. Thanks.

Tube could be a pressure or humidity sensor. If the other end was open you could probably get away without it, just try to keep snow out of the opening.

I read over on Snowest one time where a guy altered his "tube" and then his sled didn't run right after that. I guess they are a specific length, keep not plugged ect... for a reason.
