00 ZR 600 EFI doesn't want to start after its warm
I have a 00 ZR 600 EFI that has trouble re-starting after she runs for a good while at least an hour or more and will restart only once it sits for like 10-15 mins in the cold and then she'll start up when given some gas. Is this the spark plugs? Anything I can check?

Could be a compression problem? Could be a stator isue! It could be just loading up!

New engine with about 6-700 miles on it, damn hope its not low compression! The stator is the only damn thing on the sled that hasn't been replaced. How do I check the ohms?

sounds like it would be a comp prob lots of miles on the top end. From my expeirence with stators you would be having a problem with it while it was running once the sled gets warmed up... Try a comp test see what you come up with.

Who did the top end? Why? Have you done a test @ WOT?

A guy that I always use here in WI that owns a large shop put in the new engine. I can't remember when the last time i changed the sparks were, probably 2 seasons ago. Would this cause it? I just dropped the sled off with my buddy (the one that had the Powder special) so that he'll have a sled this winter. He and I are going to tear it apart within the next few weeks and we'll run all these tests. Thanks again!

Yes, old plugs can be an issue with EFI sleds.
Have you used an inline spark detector to see if when it does not want to fire that you still have spark?

No, I'll be honest, I really haven't done anything to diagnose the problem. It's never really left us stranded except last season when it was on non-stop for about 2-3 hours, then we pulled and pulled and nothing. We let it sit for about 15 minutes and she fired up when I gave it gas.

Sounds electrical in that it works fine when given a bit of cool down time. I have no experience with the electrical in sleds but with other gear, I have used canned air to spray on transistors etc as it cools them right down and if the cct starts working well you have the bad component. Not sure if you could apply this technique to your sleds EFI control or spark modules.

Could possibly be the coil breaking down when warm too. Over time the intervals that it will run will get shorter and the cool down time will take longer.
