Depending on what all was done to the motor? What size was on it? 34 36 ?
I would just find a carb off of a newer 440 like a 76-78 440 Jag or Panter or Pantera!

hi the motor is stock, but i,m going to rebuild it from the ground up, i am planning on putting a 2stroke pipe on it from an kx 250 i have laying around to see if that will give some more hp also, right now i have a mikuni carb on it from an 81 skidoo 9500 blizzard it had twin carbs on it, i got an intake boot from an late 80,s yammaha engine. I have to
check he size of that carb. The motor seems to run alright i mixed the gyas a little richer then normal, so i woundn,t run to lean and do some damage. when i got the sled the gauge said it only had 840 miles on it. thanks for any help.

stock it had wda-1, i seen on the alpha sports micro-p... the 77 panther 440 had a 34-vm with a 260 main jet, and the needle jet was a p-6 251. Does anyone know where i can get a new pto bearing for this engine. I'm having nothern crank shaft in minnesota do a complete rebuild on this after x-mas, but he said he did not think he could find one.
He said he could rebuild for 200.00, plus my shipping of course.

John is a real good guy! If he can't get it ? Have you looked at the bearing yet? You might be able to get a number off of it and try a bearing store?
