Firecat Long Track conversion

FYI dont let anyone tell yo you cannot long track a firecat sled. I just completeed my 2003 f7 long track conversion from stock 128" to 144" for a cost of $180. i bought a 144"x15" track off ebay for $80 delivered with 2 inch lugs made by campolast. i used a set of snowpro extensions that were for a 144"-153" track. i spend 6 hours with a file to make them fit on my stock rails. the wheel spacers had to be cut a 1/4" off both sides since the extensions were 1/4" thiker than factor. i cut 5/8" off both sides of the track and it fit right in. i had to add 8" of heater hose to each side and move the heat exchanger back an additional 8" pictures coming soon when i get the camera developed!!!!

There were a few tracks kicking around with a deep lug made by camoplast, already the 13.5'' wide, but they only made a certain few, not too many.

ill get some pictures when were done. we had to pull the track again to drop the chassis a 1/2" because the 2 inch lugs are rubbing in the underneath of the tunnel.

To give enough clearance for the lugs at the bulkhead.

i talked to the boys at arctic cat today the track is barely skimming the bulk head of the tunnel just enough to notice. were going to file a tad off the existing drivers to make it clear

NO!! Why would you even think that filling a driver would help? You have to have atleast enough room to put your hand between the track and the cooler! At speed that track almost blows up! I don't know who told you to cut a driver, but that is crazy! If you are going threw all this do it right! Get a set of smaller drivers! I would think you have 9 tooth? Go to 8! Regear if you want too!

The centrifugal force of the rotating track causes it to "balloon out" at speed.
You need the smaller drivers to allow for this or you will be jamming the track in there which will cause all sorts of other problems.
Use a smaller driver and then go one tooth smaller on the bottom gear in the drop case.

HPE, or any of the online stores should have them, even Tracks USA should have them.

With your drive shaft out, take a hack saw and make a mark on each side of the existing drivers! When pressing new on be sure to match the clocking arrows! Another thing is with the anti ratchets you need to make clearence on the rail tips (maybe not with the 9's) and the track has to be open every window!

Do not remove the caps, they are there to prevent the rails from stabbing the track.
