2008 panther opinions

Hi all,

I am new here, and have been out of snowmobiling a long time. (My last machine was a 1977 Jag 340). Did a little rental riding a few years back. Anyway, my parents have been riding since the early 70s, and have always owned Arctic Cats. I now live in N.H. and I am looking for a cat for my wife and I to do mostly easy trail riding here in New England. The 2007-2008 panther caught my eye.
I LOVE the black finish, retro 2-up spotted seat and decal theme. Brings back great memories. It looks a lot more comfortable than the bogey wheel, and slide rail cats I used to ride, when I used to ride Panthers, Cheetahs, Lynxs, Jags etc.
Anyway my inquiry is this: The Panther comes with different engine options. I believe 370, 570, or the 660 which a four stroke. I think fuel economy is important, but so is price. Anyone have any experience positive or neagative pros/cons they could share with me on owning/operating these different sleds? Thanks for any input.

370 would be an absolute dog! Id go with the 570.. but if u want fuel economy, go with the 660 4 stroke.. i kno nothing about those motors tho, i have no idea if there any good.

2008 was the last year the panther was made, and at this time everything was perfect. The 370 would be too slow and wouldn't get you much of anywhere off trail. the 570 would have much better speed with almost the same fuel economy. the 660 four stroke is the best for fuel economy, but while the fastest, is sluggish. I'd pick the 570 because its sporty and takes off quicker than the rest. Stud the track and you'd get anywhere!

The 370 would give you the worst milage! The 570 would be the snappyist! The 660t(turbo) would be the out rite Fastest! And the 660 (non) would last the longest!
The 4 stroke would be the Heavyist but then trail riding wouldn't be a bad thing! Elec start and rev would be great!

Thanks to all who responded. Just picked up a mint 2007 Panther 570 with less than 500 miles on it. Even came with a single place trailer! Can't wait for snow!
