Ski Skins, deep or shallow profile.

Can someone help me I am trying to buy new ski-skins for my Arctic Cat snowmobiles.

- One is a '90 EXT elTigre.
- The other is a 95 EXT EFI Deluxe.

The problem is the charts from the sellers list two different types. A deep profile for one and a shallow profile for the other. I checked out my skis and they are the same! The profile is the same! Obviously someone switched one, but i don't know which one. So, I would like to know how to tell them apart so I can order the right ones.

I called the shops and they don't know the difference.

Thanks.

The deep would be better in deep snow, the shallow better on like ice and hard pack!

Thanks

I think the skins should fit the metal skis. So the skis are either shallow or deep and then buy the correct skins for them.
- Can I just choose the skin depending on the conditions?
- I just checked them again and it seems one of them has a better lip on the back. Which would be better for backing up.
Otherwise they are the same, one set looks older and has been welded up(looks like they did a good job).
- I think the skis are No. 0703-129 (not sure)

When reversing it will help from digging in. I guess you could change skins constantly but it'd be a pain.

ski skins

Ya, I'd love to go plastic, but too much for me right now.

I just looked over one of them and found a number stamped on it, " 129 " must be 7030-129.
Now, it that a deep profile or a shallow profile ski?

You choose the ski skin that fits your skis. If your skis are rounded on the bottom you need the shallow skinz, if they are more shaped like a v on the bottom you need the deep profile skinz.
