yea, plenty of zrs here in MI... I dnt think EFI is completely neceassary, Yeea its nice, but if sumthing goes wrong with it its alot harder to fix, while carbs are easier to work on... all our sleds are carbed(besides the 03 zl 600) and they start 2 pulls pretty much always, all u gotta do is clean em once in awhile... Im not sayin EFI is bad, u just gotta see both sides

Sure, EFi can be more difficult to diagnose, but it is more efficient and trouble free over the life of the sled.

That is an average price of that sled in Canada. I wish we had the prices you guys have in the States, if we did I would probably be riding about an '05 Viper instaed of an '02......
But yes, as for that '98 Cat that is a fairly average price in Canada.
I forgot to ad that for a sled that age, or with what you are looking for, it most likely is NOT worth the hastle of bringing it over to border unless you find something they are almost giving away.

J Mills, I dont think 2 grand for a 98 ZR 500 is bad in CDN Dollars at all. Looks like someone else agreed as that sled has been removed from kijiji (Assumedly sold)
I just brought (2) 2002 ZL's home. One is a ZL 600 EFI and the other is a ZL 550. Both in excellent to mint condition. bought in good old NY state...way cheaper. Even with exchange, GST, PST, RIV and gas down and back. I saved $2000 easy on the pair.

agreed.......you can get much newer in the states for much less coin. I brought a couple older sleds over too. Over 15 years old, there is no RIV fee and no inspection. Mine were spares for company, friends etc..
BTW...Waters.....see ya on the Strathroy trails..I live near Kerwood

That '01 looks pretty good. Fairly respectable price too, I see the guy selling it is from my hometown....

As a GTA (Greater Toronto Area) resident I just wanted to throw in my 2 cents worth in regard to sled prices in our area. I dont know why but sleds in our neck of the woods are considerably higher than in the USA. I have owned over 20 sleds in my life and watch the local classified ads like a hawk (several times a day) and I can tell you that some of the prices mentioned by US members on this forum just dont exist around here.
A low miles 98 ZR 600 in mint shape would sell very quickly here if the price was $2000. I bet other Canadians will agree.
A very large percentage of used USA sleds are exported to Canada due to the price gap.

I could not agree more with you Cookster. I also spend way too much time on Kijiji and other sites, and yes the price here are FAR higher then in the states. What we pay 2500 for here, its worth about half of that in the US.
