Arctic Cat 2000 Zr 700 Opinions

What do you think about the 2000 Zr 700?

I'm looking into buying a 2000 Zr 700 w/ 2200 miles. I enjoy riding on the trails and fooling around in sand pits, hitting small jumps and carving through powder. Am I looking a the right sled?

-Pros/Cons?
-Specs

Yes you've got the right sled except for carving. It will be difficult on a short track and without a powder track. My friend has a 98 zr 700, and the only con to it is gas mileage. It really is bad, like 5 or 6 mpgs.

It will carve fine, just take a bit more finesse to do it with a short track.

ZR's are great sleds...my wife has a 2000 ZR EFI 600 and loves it. Great over bumps, light and easy to toss around. May be a little harder to carve with since it only has a 121" track.

The gas milage isn't great; she gets around 8 mpg on average (Imperial gallons: 4.5L). They are also a little heavy on oil, but I would rather spend an extra $50 a season for a couple extra jugs than do a rebuild due to oil starvation.

Better to find a 700 before the year 2000 since the 600's were known for stator problems. Haven't heard much about 700 problems.

Good luck....Good riding!

The resurection of the Old Wild Cat motor wasn't Cats finnest moves! The 600EFI might be a better choice!
