They do need replaced but find out what is fitting them!!!! Pull the suspension out, replace the drive bearings and the spedo key! And look for a rubbed spot that the wheels have hit?

Woulda been nice if the idiot i bought it off of would of told me the speedo dont work and that the idlers are all chewed up.. He had em turned so the good part was facin up and i couldnt even tell, I wish i knew how many miles it had on it for real to.. im gunna call the guy tmrw and give him a little piece of mind.. so much for "ready to ride"

Idler wheels disintergrate all the time from old age. You need to replace them or they will blow up on the trail, leaving only the plastic. And that will create extra pressure on the slides wearing them out prematurely. (been there done that.) Especially on my doo. Ill post pics of wht happens.
Check all the bearings down there. Those seizing up will either distroy the wheel or they will blow right off the sled. So replace em, and replace all gritty bearings.
Nice Cat tho.

New idler wheels come with the bearing tho rite? So do u think thats from bad bearings or just old age? Is there any way to replace all this stuff without takin the skid off? And what if i replaced only the speedo key and not the drive shaft bearing? Would the speedo still work?

Only reason i payed over bluebook value is because he said it was ready to ride, and i wanted that because i dont have much room to work on all this, Even if this is minor common stuff, im pretty pissed off at the guy that sold it to me.. The fricken sled could have like 6k miles on it! He coulda told me the speedo dont work

It's easy to do.
The bulb is in a socket that can be removed from the back of the casing and then is just a standard automotive push in dash light bulb.

Now I'm worried. I gotta do an inspection of my sled to make sure I was told of everything. But yeah, make him pay you.
