LOL!!! I haven't been able to get to any of them because they've either sold or they were just too far to go. I had/have a sprained ankle and it makes driving a stick difficult in the city, really can't do it.
So does 'that polaris is a fanner' mean it's good or bad? Because it sounds like a bad thing lol. I already have all that other stuff, just need a sled! lol.

its fan cooled, simple design but much less power than a liquid 550. my ole man has a 440 fanner. its really reliable, but gutless, i mean it moves, but its no barnstormer

I have read up on the 550 engines a bit. It seems as if the 2003-2006 models are having the most issues. I didn't see anything about 99' but this isn't looking like something I need to deal with. I may just wait for a 600 in that case, unless anyone else has any other input on this?

Fan cooled sleds don't actually require snow to run, so it can be used in low-snow conditions. And they do lack power compared to liquid counterparts, but if speed is not what you're looking for, then you'll be just fine with one. I've never heard of any problems, but if you get plenty of snow, then I'd say a 600 would be better. But don't pass up the 550 if you like it!

Ok so I'm going to take one last shot at getting a sled. The snow has already started to fall and there's less and less sleds around and for higher prices.
This was just recently posted, appears to be a great deal but I'm wondering if 8000KM's is a big deal or not.

So this is what happened:
1) Called dude, went to look at sled
2) Arrived at house, found someone else bought the god-damned thing 10 minutes before I got there

I've been reading all the posts and looks like your not having very good luck. This last one looks nice and the price looks good. I wouldn't wait to look at it. Be very carefull on the higher mileage sleds. (5000 to 6000 miles) they will usually require a new top end plus. I bought a 2004 F6 a month ago for 3000.00 Cdn then took it in to check the compression and it was weak on one side. To fix that problem was going to cost me 2000.00. Luckily the dealership took it on trade. I traded to an 07 f8 mint with 1900 miles for 3600.00 difference. I lucked out on this one. Good luck and hope you find one soon.
