O that's a close call. I like the look of the 97. I think the 97 is better because it's more aggressive than a ZR, quicker, and has EFI. Hope it all goes well! Keep us up to date!

If you buy either of 'em, you're gonna have to change the "Polaris diehard for life" part of your signature

Never had a problem with the ZR until he ripped the motor from the mounts... I am guessing the jumping, zero to 100, slamming on the brakes with a fully studded track, and ripping up and down hills did not help, but all and all, a great sled. KCCats is in love with those sleds and says by far the best.

Don't say that! I only have it because the price was right! And besides, you could probably beat me in a race.
Anyway, my friend rides a 1995 ZL 580 (not EFI). It bogs and does not idle right, but it was bought knowing that. I like it because it's zippy and I like the body style. I'd say go for the 97 580 if it's in good condition!

See? Everything works out! Just make sure you do lots of tests on a sled with 8k. As long as it gets TLC it should be fine. Make sure you test start it!
