Just looked at the zl, The guys son hit a tree or sumthin' and the hood has a big chunk missing and the plastic on the body is all cracked, but hes desperate to sell it and wants 1200, i bet if i went there with 1k hed take it... Its got less then 3k miles, so im no to concerned, its EFI, and took 4 pulls to start then died, but started back up, he said the plugs were just bad.... Im gunna go back and look at it one more time, im thinkin' shes a winner... Where could I find the same exact hood for a 2000 zl? I checked CL and there wasnt any for a zl

4 pulls for an EFI is quite a bit much, especially since it's warmer and should start easier. As long as hoods don't cost much it's a good deal. Did you ever talk to the guy with the 02 Cross Country?

If it has not been started in a long time, it might take 4 pulls.
Over the summer when I only start mine once a month, it usually takes 3 to start it.

Or leave it blank/black for that "murdered" look.

Yea I guess I could do that, but idk, I kinda like the looks of the green graphics on that model and year, or I could get a custom graphics kit.. me and my uncle r gunna check it out again tmrw to take a closer look at it and to make sure nuthing got bent. then hopefully we'll buy it!

Oh, and also, my uncle knos a guy at work that does airbrushing, so if i brought in a pic of the graphics i want, he could airbrush 'em on the good for me..

Well first off, i dont see why my parents insist that my uncle has to go look at it, I checked it out and all it needs is a new hood, there wanst any damage to the side belly pan or anything, my uncle wants to make sure, but everytime he tells me hes gunna come check it out, he calls me last minute and comes up with some excuse, hes really pissing me off rite now and im not in the best mood, All the sleds are gunna sell and everythings gettin' more expensive as winter is coming... If i had my lisence id go pickup the sled myself..

So, I have to wait on my uncle, and it makes me feel bad for the guy selling it, cuz everyday i tell him im coming, i have to call him back and say we cant make it, I wish my uncle understood that, and that eevrything doesnt move at his pace, some people actually have jobs and arent available to show there sled everyday.. cuz my uncle just called and said tmrw for sure(3rd time hes said that) I just dont want the guy to think im messin with him, and i rly hope he doesnt sell the sled!

Just came across a 99 zl 500 in my area for $1750, price is high but he says its mint, and has 3 k miles, and studded track.. i'll see if i can get him down to bluebook, which is $1400, plus the guy said his gf was the only one who rode it so it never was beat on... With a few cosmetic add ons, it could be a pretty cool lookin sled(green ski loops, green hood vents etc.)

yea price is high, but he said its absolutely mint, and the original owner was his neighbor, and he said he was a freak about taking care of it.. If i can get him down to bluebook i mite take it... and no, its carbed.. I can use that as one of my reasons why the price should be cheaper

Just found a 02 zr cross country 600 efi with elec. start for $1400! But its kinda fishy, cuz the body had 3k miles, and the engine has 1k... why would it need a new engine so soon? I asked him, and he told me he wasnt sure, he said he just bought it like that, he said he just did a comp test and its 125-125... kinda low for only havin 1k miles eh?

also, what exactly differs from a zr cross country versues a regular zr, other then graphics? Longer track?
