EFI adjusts for temp, elevation, and humidity.

If it's set up right, it should run fine in the summer. If you do convert to carbs, you will need to replace the stator and flywheel, the carb engines use different parts.

Don't know about the fuel pump, but it seems reasonable; if the pump is supplying at similar pressures, I would think it would work the same as a stock pump... Putting sled engines into carts is always a bit of a challenge, EFI engines even more so.

There's a lot more to putting an efi engine in than a carb; you will need the computer (ecu), air temperature sensor, water temperature sensor, throttle position sensor, ignition timing sensor, injector timing sensor, barometric pressure sensor, appropriate color injectors with the appropriate color coded EPROM, and a wiring harness to make all those sensors talk to each other. That's probaby why you won't see many EFI engines in a swap of that nature... converting to carbs and rejetting as necessary will be a lot cheaper and easier...

I believe that the mitsubishi fuel pump is a direct replacement.

That's because the fuel pump was in the gas tank. If you can get the tank, you should be in good shape.

It has a return line for the over pressure relief from the fuel rail.
You could fabricate a tank once you have the right pump.

Just be sure that the base is free of all junk before reassembly.

Did you remove the base nuts?
Then a rap with the mallet at the front (exhaust side) then from the back (carb side) with the piston at the bottom of the stroke should break it loose.
