if my stator goes bad, is it a catastrophic event or could it be an intermittent problem? if my sled stalls constatnly only when warm, could it be the stator? coils? its getting fuel.

Stator. Pretty common problem on the Cats. You can have them rewound, or just buy a replacement. www.rmstator.com has them.

Rewind your stator, better than new for like $200 or less! Is it efi?

yes.EFI. if i hit kill switch and turn back on as it coasts, it will usually bump back up and run for a short while, then stall again. stator?

You can test the stater for resistance with a decent multimeter to know for sure. I will grab my manual from the shop later and tell you the resistance values on which wires if you need it.
