Any Pantera feedback??

Hi all,

I was wondering if anybody here could share some experiences they have, or know of firsthand, for the Pantera.

I just picked one up from the 2nd owner (who I know personally) who bought it last winter. It's a '96, VERY CLEAN, 580 EFI, liquid-cooled, 2-up, electric start, reverse, no scratches, no tears. It's got 250 miles on it. The speedo worked last winter when he bought it (so I believe the mileage to be accurate), but is inop now; my local dealership suspects years of sitting have dried out the cable and/or the 90 degree fitting that it connects to.

The condition of the sled really is indicative of the displayed mileage.

Anyone have experience with these- good, bad or indifferent? And what a fair price would (would've, since I already bought it) be? Anything I should watch for or be aware of??

Thanks,
Kevin

The inop speedo may also be a driveshaft bearing. When the bearing goes, it sheard the drive pin in the speedo drive.

Yep I have 2 ! My 95 has alot of miles on it! The bearings are too bad to replace, this is a good time to do it too! Might as well go threw the entire suspension!
