I personally would get it to turn over freely before i started fixing the other stuff. Becuz why go through the work and money getting the wire fixed when it wont turn over or run? Then i would work on the other stuff.

Oh and the right ski isn't turned as far as the left. That could need a kinspin or spindle. Do they both turn as they should when you turn the handle? Boy she's a dirty little thing isn't she? lol

I noticed it's a single carb and there's no airbox connected to it. Do the older models have no airbox or something? How do they filter the air???

snowmobiles generally dont need an airfilter because theres not much stuff in the air to get in the carb. Really the only reason id have an airfilter/airbox on a sled is to keep the snow out.

It's definitely not the original carb. Looks like a kehin slide carb. And it looks like a 1973 lynx 440. It's got the green fan shroud which they used in 73, the 72's had red stripes on the shroud. If you don't put 2 cycle oil in the plug wells you can also try marvel mystery oil that stuff's pretty good too.

if the tank is rusted u can take pea rocks and put them in the tank and shake it around for prob an hour it should get rid of the rust, then dump the rocks out and rinse the tank out to make sure there all gone. ummm idk i usually put about 1/4 the quart in each cylinder u cant over do oil.

Lol I'd like to see someone get the tank out of my mach 1. In my case syphoning the gas out is the only way because it's the front of the seat and there's a LOT of stuff that would need to be removed to even be able to reach in to look at it. Btw, I don't think that the clutch situation is that abnormal... mine won't move by hand. The drive pully does but not the clutch. Mine starts and runs good though.

Not unless the tank is buried in the seat lol. No your model isn't as difficult, the 1991 mach 1s were built to be IMMENSLY difficult to work on lol. Probably to get more money for the mechanics I'm guessing. You should see the difference of how everything under the hood compares to yours. You would know why I call it "the beast" lol.

You're probably right about the model year, but the carb is a WahlBro Pumper.

Idk if you know this, but my grandfather stressed it on me so much that I think you should hear it too lol: never lubricate the clutch or you will have PROBLEMS. (This doesn't really apply to what you're doing now, it's just in case you think of doing it on your own.)
