Removing belt from F7

Hey guys hows it going. I bought a 2004 F7 last year at the beginning of the season and had a great time, love the sled. Now Im slowly doing the summer maintenace, I live up near Thunder Bay Ontario, so winter just finished maybe a month ago, and work keeps getting in the way. I have put the fuel additive in and such and filled it with oil. Next thing and lastly I need to take the belt off but the spring on the clutch is just right tight and I cant for the life of me move it. So for any guys who have dealt with this problem give me a shout and let me know your solution. Peace

That is an awesome idea!

I would add... next time you blow a belt, cut about a 3" section of it out and throw it in the toolbox. Use the chunk you cut out to wedge into the secondary when you open it, that way you only have to open it once... the belt chunk will keep it open for you.

Good post!

Yeah I saw that movie before and i went to go try it. In the beginning he pops out piece of the side to slide the handle in to apply pressure to the primary clutch. Unfortunately I dont have that piece to pop out so I cant use that technique. Any other ideas. Seriously anything will help. this clutch is a pain in the ass to move. pardon the language. Thanks guys.

On the secondary, rotate the movable sheave and push on it. Pull the belt into the sheave and then it should be able to be rolled off.
