ok i bought this sled just the other day and only put 6 miles on it total and then the right piston blew out the outer edge basicly is gone on about an inch of the piston, the cylinder is fine and there isnt any scratch's on side of piston, so my ??? is how do i make sure the bottom end is free of shavings or chunks ide like to keep the motor in the sled any ideas???

To be sure you would have to split the case and clean it out to be sure, but if it lost as much as you said it lost I think you run the risk of further damage to the new piston if you dont get everything out.

I would clean it out by taking it apart but you could take the cylinders off and stick a tiny magnet Fortin in there and fish the peices out

Unless you have invented an Alum magnet, that wont help!
You need to find out WHY it melted down Is there an air leak? Were the carbs Not cleaned? Do you need new seals? Did it over heat? No oil?

And if an air leak is the case, it wouldent hurt to slit the case and reseal it.
