I got my sled back from the shop after they fixed and adjusted my clutch and now it is alot snappyer but just like before i go it fixed, i can't get into thriple digits. i was on the lake last weekend on about 4-5inch of hardpack snow and i toped out at around 95. My sled gets there like instantly and it dosn't bog or anything, it just gets to around 90 and then crawls up. Wtf is wrong with it if it aint the clutch? i should be around 105 Help!:dunno:

SP track? Studs? All that adds up to more rotational inertia....prolly won't see triple digits!

The secondary needs to be set up right too.
If the spring is too weak for the primary clutch set up, you will not make the peak rpms needed for max hp.
You can move the spring one hole forward in the plate and that will raise the rpm at peak by 2-300 rpm and will make for better back shift too.

Yep more tenssion on the driven will give more RPM! But alot has to be acounted for to hit 100! Are all the bearings good? Is the track just tight enough or too tight? All the way to how good are your carbides? Then conditions have to be right too! Glare ice at Zero out with a light breeze at your back will give you a big advantage!

I would assume that with that track 105 is about all it will go in prime conditions. If you want a lake racer you'll want a 1" track or less. The other thing you can do is check your shift out. You might need to gear down with that track. Take a black marker and put some vertical lines on your primary clutch. You should have nothing left or roughly 1/8". There is also some tricks to altering your helix/secondary to get a little more shift out as well. If I get a chance I will try to find the link that explains the secondary clutch trick (assuming you have a 03-04 F7 with a roller secondary).

+1 I put a 1.25" ripsaw on my 700 MXZ and lost a good 10km/h top end from the stock track. Its not studded either. I could only imagine what another 0.125" and studs would do. If you can get to 100mph you shoudl be plenty happy! Hell getting there is all the fun anyways and you should do that real quick now!

True, any guys with f7's go through exhuast gaskets pretty easy? Mine ate 2 since i bought it and i got the sled last january. It's the gasket between the pipe and silencer, it burns the up and then when i crack the throuttle i can hear a chirp of exhaust sneak through the gasket. Not really a problem but kind of annoying and unhealthy sounding haha

Mine is an 04 carb f7 SP with the 1.375 track - 153 1.45 picks - it does have a timing key, a mild clutch kit & 4th wheel kit, other than that stock. I get 107 out of mine all day long & it gets there quick. & if you read this D&D 800 that srx we were talking about keeping up with - no problem I pull him every time in 600 ft - I'll keep the tall track.... I'm thinking of 1.7" for next year - I love the hook up.
