Engine Serial number - To determine year

I have an Artic Cat motor that I am using in a mini buggy project and would like to now year / model if possible. I am looking for a wiring diagram ultimately.

yeah i/we could likely get the year/model, but we need a reference number, say... the number on the motor above the fan, or at the top of the stator side of the engine. I have a similar project almost complete, let us know the numbers and id be happy to do some digging, or, you can call your local Cat dealer and they should be able to tell you too...Good luck.

Do you have an idea as to what kind of sled it came out of?? general era? that would make it easier. what size is it?275, 340, 440, 500 cc?

SN says it's a 440, version 03.
As to the year of manufacture, I can not say.
My guess is that the J refers to it having been in a Jag.
