900 mc cuts out

i have a 2003 900 1m that i can drive 2 miles from the trailer and it will start cutting out, even at high speed. after it coasts to a stop, if i let it sit for 45 secs, i can drive it again for about a minute. I thought it was a fuel problem, the way it seems to recharge itself, but the pickup screen and tank are clean, hoses are filling (i replaced the fuel pump and filter). i have disconnected all of the plugs at the handlebars to bypass the kill switches, etc. It will run like this for a couple of hours, and then all of a sudden start running properly. It may do it on Sat, but not on Sunday. Anybody got any ideas? Thanks

Sounds like a stator/CDI problem. I had a SkiDoo that cut out just like that. When the CDI got hot, it quit., and worked again when it cooled. You should get a spark tester to test the electrical system when it dies.

Have you asked your dealer what he thinks. Most good dealers would figure out a way to warrenty the problem if its not under warrenty anymore.
