Question 04 sabercat 500 or 03 ZL550?

Anybody have any opinions on which sled is better for a similar price? They both put out 80hp, but the sabercat is 45lbs lighter. It is my understanding that the sabercat line "replaced" the ZL line.

Why did they eliminate the outside rear track wheels on the sabercat? I noticed they are putting them back outside for 05. So did they have problems with the 04 design?

Thanks for your time.

sabercat is 10 times the sled the zl's were. They moved the wheels the the outside to help stabalize the sled.

Do yourself a favor and spend a little extra for the 600 - you will never ever regret it.

need an f9: What do you mean by "moving them to stabilize the sled"?

ditch pickle: I really have no interest in speeds higher than the 80-85 that I've been told the 500 will get me too.

Thanks to both of you for your input guys.

Go with the looks of the sabercat. Also you might be able to get a better warranty. The trade in value of a ZL is nothing compared to a sabercat. I dont think they had a problem with the rear track wheels, some just thought they looked better according to the new Pride magazine.

if ridden slow by a novice rider the '03 and '04 f chassis sleds CAN be tippy on some terrain. Arctic Cat moved the wheels to the outside to help stabalize them. Trust me, if my old lady can ride my f5 with no problem then anyone can
