Exclamation late '70s early '80s arctic cat eltigre

this one house i go by every time i go somewhere has a late 1970s to early1980s Arctic Cat eltigre how much should i ask him for it i dont know the condition but it just sits in his front yard it looks good from what i can see, and also would parts be pretty easy to get. i have my 85 eltigre and parts are hard to find. if i get this sled i might fix it and sell it this winter or ride it the winter and then choose which tigre i wanna sell

if the house is foreclosed he might need money so you probably could name your price and get it but at the very least look at the track and pull the starter cord and see if it is loose and got compression and look at the track if it is cleated make sure that none of them are ripped out and check the 3 pieces of the belt on the track to see if they are ripped

otherwise i would offer 200 to 300 maybe less depending on the condition.

GOOD LUCK

Try free first... Then tell him to name a price... Sometimes they will say $20.00 VS. me offering $100.00

That should be a Eltigre 5000 (most comon sled of those years) but could be a 6000? the 5 is a 500cc free air and very dependable all the parts are still avalible as well as the 6. The 6 is a water cooled either 440 (79-80) or 500 81! any of these sleds would be worth fixing if the track and fiberglass are good. I ask him if he'd take $100 to sart with. In good working order around here ( North Central Il) the 5 is worth about 500 and the 6 maybe 750! As for you 86 it will be alot heavier than either of the 5 or 6 and not nearly as fast, but will handle bumps better! I'd fix up a 6 and sell the 86!
