top end on F-6??

to all you f-6 riders. what is your HONEST top speed?? i want to know what you guys are seeing out of your f-6's with 1.375" tracks. i get 100-105 tops. crazy low end, but not as much top end as i've been hearing. i have 650 miles on my sled, so it should be good and broken in by now. also, are u going thru more oil than you'd expect to? i use WAY more oil in my 600 than my 800 and alot more than my brother does in his zr 500. let me know what you think. has anyone heard about these sleds using more oil than necessary? sorry, but i havent figured out how many tanks to a gallon, but im pretty sure im using more than i need to. thanks.

i have friend with an 04 F7 and it goes through quite a bit of oil he thinks. The dealer said that all of the F sleds really like their oil. Just what i've heard.

Turn down the oil. You won't burn as much. There is no way in the world that it went 114 mph in a 1000', it wouldn't go that fast in 10000'.

My friend has an early build F6 with a 1.375" track and added weight to the secondary will do 102 on the GPS (speedo reading 103). Off the line he gets 1 to 1.5 sled lengths on my 800, they are a very surprising sled.

Top speed will change dramatically according to conditions. Even packed snow vs. ice will change top end by 10 mph.

What are your RPM's at when you are topped out? Most F6's came from AC overreving at ~8100 rpm. You have to get that down to ~7600 - 7700 rpm.<--- If you are over this, you are overeving and losing hp!!

If you feel you are using too much oil, shorten your pump arm 1 turn. You should first figure out your fuel : oil ratio, then adjust your pump accordingly. Consuming too much oil will also rob horsepower.

If you have anymore ??'s, shoot away!

i've had my F6 at 108 on the speedo with the 1" track and picks. i also notice the oil consuption. i have an efi, and i heard that they run at like 36:1 ratio, so that may contribute to the oil eating. not sure, just sharing info. oh yeah, and mine had about on it when i did that run. no idea if it will be faster as it gets more mileage, but its plenty fast now.
