2000 Arctic Cat Powder Special Ignition Timing Sensor

The recoil starter came apart on my Powder Special. The spring came apart and nicked up part of the outside of the flywheel and damaged the ignition timing coil. I pulled the flywheel and stator to make sure that it wasn't damaged and that no peices or parts came apart in side. All looks good. I started the sled up using a rope on the clutch and it starts and runs just fine. I ordered a new timing sensor that was supposed to be in on Thursday, but now it won't be in until Monday. I am wanting to go riding this weekend.

Question: Can I use the damaged coil as long as it is still working? The plastic case has a crack in it and the metal sensor part has a stratch on it, but as I mentioned, it still works. I have attached pictures for reference.

Thanks
