Question need help!!!!!!!!!! 1996 440z

i need help with my 440z.. i was riding it one day and it was goin good and then it just started sounding funny and running like shit so i changed the plugs.. didnt do anything, triead a different cdi unit, nuthin... looked at the fuel system, its all good... im really really stuck on this one.. im thinkin maybe the timing advance b/c it runs fine from 5000rpm and up but below that it runs like shit and has no power and sounds bad... so how is the timing advance run on this.. what does it get its info from.. or is there even a timing advance... ?

i belive on a 1996 you can replace the stator parts you dont need to replace the whole thing so that will save you money and they are availble after market

I believe ther are 3 coils in the magnito, A lighting and a double stack of ignition (high and low) couldn't tell you wich is low though? You will need to pop the flywheel and mark then remove the whole assem, and do some soldering!

we only have carb cleaner in the aresol can... so i didnt get to soak it... but im sure its electrical cuz it was doin it then it quit for like 2 weeks.. then it started bein dum again.. but its not as bad as it was... and it it was the main jet it wouldnt run good at full throttle... it runs fine at W.O.T.. and weve been through the carbs so many times we would have found it by now if it was in the fuel delivery...... o and it sounds like its only hittin on one cylinder most of the time below 5000 but sounds great above...

ive got 30 pilots in it and 280 mains..... i think its a fuel problme now tho... it sounds like its only hittin on one cylinder below 5000... then above 5000 it runs fine... so maybe pilot or low speed screw is wayyy outta wack?? i pulled apart one of the carbs yesterday and took out the pilot and its not plugged and size 30 sounds about right... but the low speed air screw seemed wayyy to far out.. so maybe the one side was too rich or sumthin. im waitin for a new starter cup right now but i should be able to get that done by about tuesday or wednesday then i can start it and see if its carbs er what...
