Help needed Please 87 Jag 440

Hi All I"m new to this site and have a problem with my 87 440
It only has 800 org miles on it and it was going through a gallon of gas in 5 miles I took the carb off it"s a round slide Mikuni not sure of the size, opened up the float bowl everything nice and clean checked the choke to see if it was hanging up nope moves freely Set the screw at one and a half out, drove it around, top speed 30 mph max Pull the plugs did a compression check and both cyl are at 130 lbs checked the spark all seems well put in new ones gapped em at .028 and drove around a bit then it started to bog out.I put in a new fuel pump it starts right up runs for a few seconds and dies as if I turned it off Went through all the connections no corosion on any Pull the plugs totally wet again Any Ideas would be greatly appreciated

Sounds like it keeps flooding out, could be bad needle and seat in the carbs, also check float level in the carbs.

take the carb apart and blow out every little jet and orifice with compressed air, there may be a little piece of dirt in there or something, sounds like the high speed jet, but also it may be something to do with spark.. hope this helps
