Question buying second hand -mileage concern

Hello everyone,

I'm considering getting into 2-up touring and buying a second hand 2003 Pantera 600EFI with 8000 miles for $4900 Cdn, or a 2004 Pantera 800EFI with 2600 miles for $7000 Cdn.
Questions:
1. What number of miles should one be able to get out of the life of Pantera, and
2. I do not really need too much power, and want to save fuel so is the 800 much harder on gas?
3. Any other thoughts or suggestions?

600 will be way better than the 800 fuelwise. I've had both, Ski Doo, and you will notice the difference. 8000 miles is kind of high, but how was it maintained?

I'm not sure, but the owner says he bought it from an Arctic Cat dealer who told him it was in good shape. The machine looks in very good condition. He wants to sell it to get a 4-stroke.

I have a 95 Pantera with over 9000 miles on it! But there are several things that need to be done after 3500 or 4000, the engine will need to be freshined ( reringed at least) and the track looked at for replacement. ( both have been done as well as many other things to mine)! Yes the 600 would be better on fuel but the 800 will have more hp!
I personally am looking for a 800 Pantera the black and gold 04, is that what the one you are looking at is? If so and you decide on the 600 PM me with the info and I may be interested in it?

kccats, sorry for the late reply. I ended up buying a 2004 Pantera 550 and was on the road until late last night. Anyway the 800 & 600 Pantera you were interested in are located on nlclassifieds.com. I doubt if this will be of any benefit to you since it refers to Newfoundland, Canada. In fact I live on the northeast coast of Newfoundland and there is a raging storm here tonight. It will be soooo much fun "skidooing". BTW, a lot of Newfoundlanders refer to all snowmobiles as skidoos rather than the general term "sled". This probably came from the 60s and 70s when the Bombardier brand was most common.
Anyway, enough of the history lesson.
Thanks to you guys for the replies. I'll be happily "skidooing" on my Arctic Cat this weekend!

Well I saw the 600 there, but no 800! Any ideas, I typed in Pantera in the RV section and got 3 sleds?
