Cool Twisted Driveshaft

How could I twist and bend 1 inch hex driveshaft?
I don't think my stock zl600efi or any stock sled has the tork
to twist a drive shaft!
I have one on order $70,
How do I pull the plastic drive gears off and install
on the new shaft??????????

The gears are pressed on the shaft. I have no idea how one would twist, unless there is a bearing going out on it somewhere.

I haven't had one twist, but I have had a few bend over the years. The cogs are pressed on, you just need to measure the current shaft for dimensions and then press them off of that and onto the new one to the new dimensions. Pretty easy.

When you press them back on be sure to line up the arrows on the cogs.If not the timing will be off with the track.

Nothing easy about it! Just did one this week, I have a 12 ton press and about killed one of my guys! The problem is that the drivers don't fit the press and I had to jery rig a couple of pinch bars to get it to fit! You would be alot better off getting a used set for even as much as you spent on the shaft! Getting your old drivers off can be all but impossible in one piece! Mark across each of them a straight line to be sure toget them back in time! Then mark the new shaft with a hack saw for the last driver, heat it with a heat gun and press it on! Be sure not to mess up the speedo drive plug! Good luck! Oh Yeah I have a few complete shafts!

When I helped a buddy who lost his driveline, I pressed both of the cogs (1999 ZL) off at the same time. Then I pressed one on from one end, the other on from the other end. It was easy, no fuss, no muss. I took some time and cleaned the old driveline to help eliminate any extra force needed, (scraped it, then fine sandpaper) and used some penetrating oil when I worked on it, but it went fast. And like Tamacat said, make sure you align the arrows, or you get to do it twice! (oops )
