Good Deal???

Hey I'm new here and just bought my first sled a week ago. It's a 1999 ZR 600 EFI with 4300 miles and a brand new rip saw track. The back of the seat has a small tear, but otherwise a nice clean sled. Bought it for 1400, think that was a good deal?? Also, wanted to know what type of oil goes in the chain drip tank by the disc brake, thanks for the help pics will be coming soon!! LET IT SNOW

I assume you are talking about the chaincase.....use either AC chaincase oil (available at the dealer) or Amsoil makes a syn oil. Seems there are many different lubes people use in the chaincase....from 5W30 motor oil to trans fluid!!

BTW - That sounds like a fair price for that sled!!

Welcome to the snow show! Sounds like a great sled and a good deal! I use a mixture of syn motor oil and lucas in the chain case and Extrem in the oil tank of the engine! Good luck and enjoy! Hope to meet you on the Mi ride!

i think if you got a sled newer than mid 80s you should use a synthetic chaincase lube i mean they usually only hold about 6 to 8 ounces so the 10$ average you spend on it will last a long time unless its leaking. my old panther calls for 80w so i put 80-90 in it cuz it seems no matter what i do i cant stop the case from leaking and its cheaper to refill. but my 90 indy 400 i filled with arctic blue syn chaincase lube. good stuff.
