old engine newer body

I have a engine from a 1976 arctic cat 340 jag it has a total of 53 miles on it. Hard to believe but it really does. The body was trashed from one of my sons, but no damage to the engine. So my question is. Can I take the older engine and put it in a newer body? I know I probably can't get to newer. how new can I go, if any?

You could mount the engine in any twin cylinder chassis, it's the electrical you'll have to deal with.

I assume it was a free air? I would have gone to Hay Days and found a 85-89 Jag it would bolt right up. When the Jag went AWS sometime around there they went to a fan. That was a Susuki right? in reality you could put it in anything just watch the hood to make sure you will get enough air!
