Ther are ALOT that can be done! Start with the clutchs, air box, carbs, pipes, can, studs and then get into the motor! Where do you want to start?

Sounds like it's plenty fast, already!! To keep yourself busy, why not go through everything to make sure it is reliable (clutches, belt, hyfax's, bogie wheels, skid frame pivot points, etc). Look for stuff that could let you down out on the trail. It's a lot more fun to work on them in your garage in nice weather rather than on the trail when it's dark & -10*

Cylinder reeds on this motor

Boyeson dual stage reeds are about all that is available aftermarket for this motor, as far as I could find when I mod'd mine. The reeds are not very large on this motor, and in my
opinion leave little room for improvement. I use them in both
of my 700-790 Wiseco bigbore motors. Don't know how much an improvement they are, but they are inexpensive (about 40 bucks)
so I use them.

As an aside, cylinder reed engines have been kind of poo- poo-d
in the past as not much better than piston port motors, but PSI
Racing has fairly recently come out with a cylinder reed top end and they point to some reasons why they have some unique advantages.

Reeds go between the carb and the base of the engine. They act as a one way valve so that when the piston is on the down stroke, the gas mixture is forced up to the top of the piston rather than some being spit back through the carb.
This allows the smaller cc engines to produce more HP and have a crisper throttle response.

The old Wild Cat motor has a very small set of reeds, that are mounted from under the cyl! I put the boyseens in mine and I supose they helped? The only thing is you have to pull the jugs off to get at them! But while you're in there great time for some porting!!!

Well if you really want more speed and power, follow KCCATS advice. Try Buy ATV Parts, Motorcycle Parts, Snowmobile Parts, and Watersports Parts, Accessories & Apparel @ Shade Tree Powersports J R Graham, Powersports Warehouse Hot Seat Performance
There are plenty more but i can't think of them

Replacing reeds will not make a huge difference unless they are damaged or not closing completely.
A properly tuned drive train will make a bigger difference in the speed you get and reduce the loss of power due to worn, too tight, or mis-aligned components.

So, tune and clean the clutches, make sure that all the bearings are in good shape and well lubed. Check that the track is set at the minimum proper tension and is aligned properly.

Cylinder reeds on this motor

Kind of like a hybrid between piston port and reed.
The carbs attach directly to the cylinders and shoot
mix directly into the cylinders like piston port motors, but have reeds at the bottom of the cylinders that cover the transfer ports, or at least a couple of the transfers.

The reeds cover the side transfere ports, the rears are open. This why they are open to large HP gains in porting! I have a ported( amond other Mods) 88, It is the fastest year of that engine which spans into 2000! Most only make about 115hp Im at about 140.It's a good stong debendable motor, just not up todays twins!
Open up the transfere ports and knife edge them, get a set of Boyseens, Have the carbs bored to 42's, add the air intake doors, get a set of black magic pipes, mill .030 off the heads, add 5 grams to the clutch and put atleast a yellow green spring in the drive clutch and give it a try.
