Smart Ride suspension

I have an '02 ZL600SS and it's time to get rid of the Smart Ride shocks. I am looking for some advice/direction on what other riders are using for shocks and any other procedures that goes along with this swap out.

Why not just have them rebuilt?

I bought the sled from a buddy & he said that shocks needed to be replaced due to computer damage or something. I have been told that the Smart Ride is pretty expensive to replace and would not be satisfied with the ride. This is a spare sled so I do not want to throw a bunch of dough at it. Sled is in great shape otherwise. Any suggestions? I am hoping to pull shocks this weekend so I can get measurments and find out what I have for options.

go to your local cat dealer and they will tell you to throw those ss shocks in the trash and sell you rebuildable ones. arctic cat does not rebuild the shocks and the cost to replace them is about as much a good used sled

I would not go back to a Stealer to have the shocks rebuilt, they would only want to sell you new ones! Try calling my guy, Ed Ingram 262-496-5001. He'll give you the facts and likly have what you need.

Thank you for the info every one! So far it is looking like a set of new Act's might be a good compromise without spending to much money. The thing for me to keep in mind is that is a spare sled, however I do want the ride to decent. So, let me know if anyone has any more ideas.

A set of new shocks through cat will likly be 200 ea? You could repair and rework them into conventional alot cheaper, and beter!

the shocks they have you put on the sled are like the sabercat shocks either way you go will be rather costly
