belt sizing and bolt torque specs?

i finally got the correct comet clutch puller for my 96 zr580engine(blown motor). got the 700 motor completly mounted, hooked up, and running. it was not too much work to swap the motor. a little bit of fabrication work, but this was my first real motor swap, and im no real motor head. the problem is now that i want to make sure i correctly size the belt and torque the primary clutch bolt to spec, and i have no manual. the belt i have just put on it was the stock 96 580 size, and it should be the same with the 700 ( i have theoretically placed the clutch in the exact same spot as a 580), but how can i be sure without riding it??

Torque the clutch bolt @ 50/60 ft/lbs.
If you placed the motor using the belt as a guide for distance, it should be OK.

HPE (and others) sell a tool for about 25 bucks that helps line up the offset as well as the c/c distances! This is the most important thing to do when ever you have a motor out, much less a swap! Get it exactly where it needs to be or it will eat belts!
