Thundercat Suspension

Hi folks...I have a 99 T-Cat with the M-10 suspension. I love the sled except it hit bumps HARD, really hard. Almost to the point where Im thinking about getting rid of it. I know the M-10 is complex, but are there some basic things I can check like the spring and shock, and how? When I get behind the sled and push down on the back bumper (which takes alot), and let go, it snaps right back up real real quick.....Something just seems wrong. I also have a new F-10 SnoPro and the difference in rear suspension is night and day. I know the T-Cat will never ride that nice, but I still think it should be better than it is. Thanks for the help I appreciate it.

Pre-load is set too stiff and possibly you need the shock rebuilt or replaced.

look under the tunnel, there is a spring that you can adjust the weight pre-load (stiffer/softer). I'm not sure of the adjustment on an M10, but if you have it too stiff for your weight, it will ride hard. Also, you should be able to change the angle of the rear arm which will also change the stiffness of the ride.

Is there a way to check the shock(s). Do I have to take them off?

Take the shocks off and take them in to be rebuilt, the guy I use only charges like $100, not much to them, and he can recalibrate them to what ever you need. The M10 may not be as good as a new F10 but it should be very close!
