Problem with speedometer on first ride

So i woke up this morning and headed up the mountian here in casper to find close to two feet of powder in some places and no one else around. couldnt ask for a better way to start the season. but i ran into a problem when i paid attention to my speedometer it would sometimes work as usual little shaky but then sometimes it would be at 100mph bouncing around for no reason, and i was only going 30 maybe. the cable itself is hooked up good, just wondered if anyone had any idea what ive got on my hands. thanks for your time.

Try dry graphit. Also you should look at the drive. Anytime there is a speedo problem check the bearing!

There may be a zerk (grease) fitting on the end of the drive shaft....also an angle adaptor.

Have you ever had the adapter off to check that drive shaft bearing? This is a common problem with older sleds.
The drive shaft bearing will start to wear out and will drop which in turn will shear the key off so that the speedo will stop entirely or act as you have described.
