hood air duct?

i dont have one of these in my sled. do i need one? it came with one stock. its a hood air duct.hood-air-duct-97e2_1.jpg

Those are usually used on fan cooled sleds.

yea mine came with one and i took it off because i didnt like it. i dont need it right?

hmm i think it was on the right side. it is hollow btw so it wouldnt stop snow from going anywhere. i guess ill put it on. all i need are the screws for it and my screens

It likly channels air to the clutch and keeps it away from the pipe.

It is to direct cold air onto the brake to keep it cool. (works better cool)

Ask yourself this....what will I gain by removing it?? What purpose does it serve & what is the worst that can happen if I remove it??
