Temp prob 4" vs. 10" What temp range is good at 10"

Ok, I origanaly put my temp probs 100mm from the piston skirt.
And I was told that 1115 degrees is good and 1200-1250 is bad.
Now, I have called AAEN and EGT (the place where I purchased the Pyro and probs.) They both say 10" from the cylender wall. Now, moving them is easy, they were the clamp on, and I can weld the old hole up very easy. My question is at 10" from the cylynder wall will these specs of 1115 degrees good and 1200-1250 bad still apply? Or will that change since the distence is much further from the piston skirt. At 100mm I was getting high temps just doing 40mph. Thats why I checked with EGT & AAEN. I thought the probs must be too close.

Who told you 4'' in the first place? The probes should have came with instructions? 4'' is too close to the cylinder to give a true reading of the pipe.
