1997 zl 440 suspension problem

i am have a problem with my rear suspension. i push down on the rear of it it goes down but it doesnt come up. it goe down reall easy. i have to pull it up. the shock it good. does any body have any ideas wat it is?

Sounds like you need to rebuild your shock. You say it's good how do you know? there will be some normal sag probably
2" or so. Could you have a broken spring?
Are you sure its a 97 ZL I didn't they were til 98?

because i just bout the shock last year. and im sure its a 1997 zl because we have 2 of them.

Sounds to me like a broken spring also. Are the settings as stiff as they'll go??

Make sure everything is well greased to start with. Shocks don't push the sled up, they only dampen the motion. Springs may be getting old & saggy. New springs will help & luckily, they don't cost very much!!

Yep, I'd look at the springs. May possibly have a sheared bolt or broken arms....dunno.As IRS said shocks are just for dampening.
